Hi folks!
Today, the dress of the week is a black an off-white ladie's tailor from the late 50's, trimmed with black satin. It is made out of wool, so it perfectly fits to our strange winter weather, here in Belgium. We added this floral red and off-white silk scarf to enhance the ladie's tailor, and because we don't want you to get sick! Silk keeps you a lot warmer than you think this light piece of fabric would. Pierre Balmain is here providing sick insurance to our model.

Over the years, the Parcours has become one of the major events promoting Avant Garde fashion in Brussels and in Belgium.

The next one will take place over four days, from 24 to 27 October, with an agenda packed with over 60 designers showing off their designs, new fashion collections, performances, fashion shows, concerts and evening activities. It's a chance to jump into the lives of the Brussels trendy set.

Being the first to discover new collections, opening up your imagination in front of unusual displays and getting a buzz during performances when fashion and art are never far away: there is sure to be lots on offer for fashion lovers.

During the Parcours you can revel in fashion. The weekend is sure to be a time for new discoveries for fashion aficionados."

This year is a very special one, for our guest designer is Samantha van den Driessche. On Friday the 25th will be the late night opening in the rue des Chartreux, and we'll have the pleasure to show you the amazing indian dancers from Bharata natyam performing for Samantha's creations at Gabriele Vintage. You don't want to miss it!

Hey folks, as you can see, this is no dress, beware, but a TUNIKA. It is made out of very good synthetic jersey and has quite an asian touch, so you would pair it with nice trousers. Or with whatever you want, depending on what you want to show or to hide...

Hi there!
For the beginning of the automn term, we are back with... an "automnish" dress from the 70's. It is silk with a flower print that fits perfectly to the weather we have now in Brussels. A dark backdrop, yet with fresh colour on the forderground.
We decided not to pair it with its actual belt- which was made out of the same print, but prefered this thin leather sand coloured one. The felt hat we chose has the same "sandy" touch than the belt. And to finish the look, a fancy turtle style handbag from the 60's.

The Wonder Window Show

We had an amazing afternoon at the beginning of the summer inviting some of our friends to experience with vintage. They picked up their outfits by themselves to show us their particular style, instead of being dressed up. Check it out!

PIECE DE LA SEMAINE

Here is the perfect dress to welcome autumn. It is still light and fresh, yet it introduces the typical bronish and red colours of a lovely september ending. It is knitted in white and embroided on the bust. and has puffy sleeves.

PIECE DE LA SEMAINE

This a pretty 70's dress, perfect for chilly summer evenings or bright autumn weather. The fabric is cotton net with typical seventies pattern in dark brown and ecru. The collar, parts of the shoulders, pockets and sleeves are made of ecru structured cotton.

The belt we used for the photo is not the original one (which is very similar). We preferred to enhance the silhouette by taking a darker color. This belt is crocodile leather with a golden buckle.

We suggest you to wear this dress with pumps or boots.

Here comes the femme fatale tailor from Yves Saint Laurent! The waist is accented by the large shoulders, like it used to be in the 80's. Its is cotton with a satin dot finish.

We matched the tailor with this black 50's hat. It is vernished straw-plait with a white triangle which enhances the 80's triangle shape of the tailor.

We are back with this fancy cocktail dress from the 50's.
The bustier has a silk muslin fold, finished by thin braces. The skirt is out of a darker blue tulle on lining.

The Jazzy Quartet

Hello everybody!

We were really happy to see you all at the boutique last time to enjoy the marvellous Jazzy Quartet. The weather was not with us, but we know that a bit of rain is sure not gonna scare a real northener ;) Yes, I'm talking about you who did the right choice and came to listen and to support emerging talents, thank you really really much. And since the comments we received were all beyond positive, we will start another similar action next month for sure.
  We hope to see you there again, but this time in light summer clothes.

Hello folks,

Here is a new piece for this week. The text is in french, it will be soon translated in English, don't worry:

" Voici une combinaison d’une jupe années 50 en coton amidonné, le fond est couleur "terre de sienne brûlée" avec des pois blanc. Elle est froncée en plusieurs endroits et s'arrête aux mollets.
La blouse en coton blanc est classique mais bien cintrée, à petit col, années 50 aussi.
La jupe est tenue par un joli jupon en tulle. La ceinture en skaï brun, avec la boucle ronde termine notre silhouette.

Pour la photo, nous avons fermé les boutons de la blouse jusqu’en haut, c’est souvent comme ça que ça se portait. Laissez-la un peu ouverte, échangez la ceinture contre une autre plus actuelle (noire peut-être) et la silhouette deviendra beaucoup plus contemporaine. Ce qui me plais ici, c’est la fraîcheur et le charme, qui fonctionne aujourd’hui tout aussi bien que jadis." Gabriele

Welcome to our new chronique: La pièce de la semaine.

The idea is to put every week a special clothing in the spotlight, because it fits to the weather, the season, to fashion, or simply because we find it beautiful.

Here is the first piece:

It is a nice dress with the perfect colour to brighten these gloomy days we have in Brussels. It is made by different layers of synthetic fiber veils. It has a fit and slightly flared cut typical for the 50's. And last but not least: the amazing hang in the back!
